- General Provisions
1.1. These Regulations define the rules and conditions for participating in the open call for artists organized by Riga Music Week (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”).
1.2. The aim of the open call is to select artists and music groups who will perform original material at Riga Music Week, connecting them with national and international audiences and music professionals.
1.3. The event will take place in Riga, Latvia, on November 5–6, 2025.
1.4. The open call is open from April 25, 2025, to midnight July 7, 2025 (Organizer’s local time).
1.5. The Organizer reserves the right to extend the application deadline, modify the terms, or cancel the open call without prior notice.
1.6. All updates and important announcements will be published on the official website and Organizer’s social media channels.
- Eligibility Criteria
2.1. The open call is open to solo artists, bands, and collectives of all music genres.
2.2. Participants must present original music.
2.3. Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. Applicants under 18 must provide parental or legal guardian consent.
2.4. Artists must hold the full copyright or performance rights for the material submitted and performed.
2.5. Artists from any country may apply.
2.6. Participation in the open call is free of charge.
- Application Procedure
3.1. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official online form.
3.2. Applications must be complete and accurate. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
3.3. If multiple applications are submitted by the same artist or band, only the most recent submission before the deadline will be considered.
3.4. The Organizer is not responsible for applications that are lost, corrupted, incomplete, or delayed due to technical errors.
3.5. Submission of an application does not guarantee participation in the festival.
- Selection and Notification
4.1. Artists will be selected by a committee of music industry professionals appointed by the Organizer.
4.2. Selection criteria include artistic quality, originality, stage potential, and relevance to the festival program.
4.3. All applicants will be informed of the results by August 29, 2025 via the email provided in the application form.
4.4. Selected artists must confirm their participation within 14 days of notification. Failure to respond in time may result in withdrawal of the invitation.
4.5. The first public announcement of selected artists will be made on September 22, 2025.
- Terms of Participation
5.1. Selected artists agree to perform at Riga Music Week on November 5 or 6, 2025. The final schedule will be communicated by the Organizer.
5.2. The Organizer offers the following to selected artists:
- Accommodation: Twin or triple room for the night of the performance for artists traveling from outside Latvia or from a location more than 2 hours’ drive from Riga.
- Delegate Passes: Riga Music Week PRO passes for all performing members and one professional representative (manager, booking agent, or similar).
- Catering: One warm meal per performing artist on the day of the performance.
- Technical Setup: Basic sound, lighting, and backline equipment will be provided. A member of the RMW technical team will contact each artist prior to the event to discuss technical needs. Submission of a technical rider is required, but it does not guarantee that all listed equipment or specifications will be fulfilled. The final setup will depend on venue capabilities and available resources.
- Access: Admission to all Riga Music Week concerts, conference activities, workshops, and networking events.
5.3. Artists are responsible for arranging and covering their own transportation to Riga and any additional costs not expressly covered by the Organizer.
5.4. The Organizer does not pay performance fees or travel costs.
5.5. All performances may be recorded, photographed, or broadcast for Riga Music Week’s promotional purposes without additional compensation to the artist.
- Cancellation and Changes
6.1. Upon confirming participation, artists enter into a binding agreement with the Organizer.
6.2. Cancellation by the artist without a valid reason (e.g., health emergency, travel restrictions) may lead to reimbursement of expenses and may affect eligibility for future editions.
6.3. The Organizer reserves the right to change the event format, schedule, or participation conditions due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Copyrights and Permissions
7.1. By applying, artists confirm they hold full rights to the materials submitted and performed.
7.2. Artists grant the Organizer the right to use promotional materials (photos, biographies, links) for marketing purposes related to Riga Music Week.
7.3. Artists consent to the recording, photographing, and broadcast of their performance without entitlement to additional compensation.
- Personal Data Processing
8.1. By applying, participants consent to the Organizer processing their personal data for purposes related to the selection process and event organization.
8.2. Participants have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data.
8.3. Data will be handled according to applicable data protection laws and the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.
- Final Provisions
9.1. By submitting an application, participants accept these Rules and Regulations in full.
9.2. The Organizer reserves the right to amend these terms. Any changes will be communicated via the official website.
